Jeremy started developing his financial geekdom back in college, at UNC Chapel Hill, where he majored in political science yet also took economics classes just for fun. He then worked in accounting for 11 years where he and spreadsheets became best of pals. He also found he enjoyed understanding tax law and quickly became the go to person for taxes amongst his family and friends. Now that he is with the Retirement Geeks, he focuses on studying the larger macroeconomic picture and how fiscal policy, monetary policy, tax law, and politics all affect the markets.
Jeremy’s other interests include coaching public speaking, debate, and theater to high school students, playing multiple sports (including tennis, volleyball, and basketball), and enjoying wine. Jeremy is intensely curious and likes learning about anything that catches his interest whether it be theoretical physics, psychology, or a random piece of trivia from a conversation. Jeremy also has a cat named Sheldon who much like the character from the show, likes to tell Jeremy what to do.
